Doesn't Anybody Have an Old Pick-up????

That truck we have been looking for is still urgently needed! It will help the "Tools for Development" mission in eastern Mexico, which is supported by several churches in Mission Presbytery. The community center construction project for the remote village of Agua Puerca Mexico is now underway and the vehicle will play an important part in making sure that the project is not stalled due to the lack of a tool or piece that must be brought from outside.

The "Tools for Development" mission is serving a very real, even critical, need in indigenous villages of the Sierra Madre Mountains of East Central Mexico. They have served this area for Christ over the past ten years in ways critical to immediate needs, although the work is now shifting toward permanent development projects aimed at breaking the cycle of chronic poverty. Traveling to the remote villages over barely passable roads is taking a toll on their vehicles.

Transportation is vital to continuing this Christian enterprise. The Director of this ministry, Steven Lewis, who is the son of the Reverend John Lewis, a pastor in our Presbytery, has sent out an appeal for the donation of a used pickup truck, which would be used to transport much needed provisions to the villagers. In order to qualify for registry in Mexico, the pickup must be 10 years old or older, have a gasoline (not diesel) engine, and have a normal (not dual) rear axle. We hope and pray that such a vehicle may be available in the near future. We thank all who work so diligently for the Kingdom of God and His church. Contact Steven Lewis at slewis5@gmail.com.
