2007 Budget Set for MOSD

The new 2007 budget for the Mission, Outreach and Service Division was agreed upon at the January 13 meeting. Following the principle of tithing, MOSD was granted 10 % of the total Presbytery budget, or $75,000. This is not as much as last year because there has been a downturn in giving, a cause of much concern.

Welcome, New Point Persons!

The Mission, Outreach and Service Division (MOSD) of the Presbytery has set up a system of "point persons." A point person is one who is in a leadership position to promote mission outreach in his/her own congregation. Some are Mission Committee chairs. Others are just interested people. We welcome new people who have taken this responsibility on for their congregations.

As your congregation's point person you will receive occasional e-mails alerting you to opportunities for service or relating news from projects that our Presbytery is supporting. Keep in touch with this web site. One new program we have started, which you will be interested in, is an online forum for mission leaders. Read about it below. Share your ideas and experiences with us.

If your church does not have a point person, choose one and have him/her contact us at myongsook@aol.com.

Good Neighbor Award

Mission Presbytery Disaster Response Coordinator Honored by the National Association of Realtors

Tary Snyder has received an award from the National Association of Realtors. Singletary (“Tary”) H. Snyder is the Disaster Response Coordinator of Mission Presbytery and the co-director of Disaster Response for Texas Conference of Churches.

Tary received a “Good Neighbor” award and a check for $2,500 for the Mission Presbytery Disaster Response because of his long, selfless dedication to helping his neighbors all over Texas and Louisiana who have suffered natural disasters.

Mission Presbytery is proud of this saint in our midst and we pray for his continued health and good work.
