Phased Selective Divestment - What is it? How has it come about?

A brief summary of how the process of phased selective divestment has come before the PC(USA) in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is given here under the title of "How Did We Get to This Point in the Divestment Issue?" Action on the overture to rescind the policy of phased slective divestment has been postponed until the March meeting of Presbytery. A task-force of five will be appointed by the moderator to study this issue and present its recommendations at the next Presbytery meeting.
